STORY BEHIND THE DISH:
My mother made this often. Recipes did not come with instructions since the pies were baked in stoves that used wood for the heat source.
| INGREDIENTS: | |
| 3 egg yolks | 3/4 cup milk |
| 2 Tbl flour | 1 cup coconut |
| 1 cup sugar | unbaked pie shell, 8" or 9" |
DIRECTIONS:
Beat egg yolks. Mix flour and sugar, and add to eggs. Beat. Add milk and coconut. Pour into an 8 or 9 inch unbaked pie shell. Bake at 350 deg F until set.
